Orbiting the sun...

OK, so it's not really a sun...I watched this ant crawl around the surface of this flower for a couple minutes. He just went in a big circle around the center part. It looked like an orbit, and with the middle being orange and all, it reminded me of the sun...

Water Lily

I shot this fairly early in the morning at a small park near my work. I was really struck with how calm and mirror-like the surface of the water was. It reminds me of some of the paintings Monet did of water lilies.

Forget me nots

From the recent crop of pictures I posted to Picasa. These are a lovely crop of wild forget-me-nots, the official state flower of Alaska. They grow all over the place, and they're really beautiful.

Enjoy.

Our neighbor's fence

Our next door neighbor has a fence to keep their two dogs in the back yard. They also have lots of flowers and bushes around the perimeter of the fence. I shot these flowers this summer--I thought the bright greens and reds of the plant made a nice contrast to the grey-brown of the fence. I also like the fact that I did no post-processing on this other than to crop it. I hope you like it!

Black-eyed Susan

I took this on a beautiful late summer day in a park in Elmhurst, IL. They've got a really nice park and conservatory near the downtown area, and I walked around the grounds of the park shooting stuff at random--experimenting with RAW format instead of JPEG, and also fiddling with exposure, white balance, etc. Even this was just an experiement I thought it came out nice.
