Meiji Shrine Gardens

The Meiji Shrine in Tokyo is one of my favorite places to walk, reflect, and photograph. I took this shot there in 1996, but there's something comforting about the fact that the place doesn't really change all that much.

I did some work in Photoshop on this, and produced a black and white version also. I couldn't decide which I liked better so thought I'd post both of them.

The Meiji Shrine is indeed a very nice place to get away from the enormous city that Tokyo is. I think your b/w version works just a little bit better.

Hey, thanks for your comment. I agree that the Meiji shrine is a nice retreat--the city planners of Tokyo seem to realize the need to balance out life and provide time and place for reflection.
